    1. Got this for FCBD 2017 and honestly I'm kind of glad I didn't pay for it. The art is the usual hyper detailed sexualized deal that covers up poor anatomi, story the usual kind of colonial stuff that seems to be the staple of steampunk. Could have been good, was another uncreative thing a la Five Ghosts

    2. I feel harsh rating this one two stars, but I had to force myself to finish it! I mean, if anything, I expected to devour this for fun. Steampunk gadgets, Frankenstein/cyborg themes, butt-kicking women? Heck, yeah! Sowhy didn't I enjoy this? If this were a TV show, I would've loved it, because it wouldn't have taken so much effort. I feel badly for saying this, since I like the overall look of the Steigerwald's art, but this was not good visual storytelling. There's no sense of movement to the a [...]

    3. I missed the first collected edition at my local comic book store and ended up reading issues 2 & 3 before 0 & 1. I ordered this (and the rest of the series) to catch up and it is certainly worth the money. Lady Mechanika is a badass. She's cool and calm, but the few moments in which she shows emotion, I actually feel it. She isn't just tough; she also has a heart. But she keeps herself under meticulous control. That's what makes it so much more touching to see her emotion. And the art s [...]

    4. As both a traditional book and comic book reader who is inexperienced with steampunk I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. As most books that need a hook to keep the reader interested because their fate is undetermined with popularity, issue #0 is dipped in mystery and we start off in medias res, the author hoping that sheer confusion and questioning will keep the reader interested long enough to notice the beautiful artwork and then leave a cliffhanger to hopefully make the reader have [...]

    5. Benitez is one of my favorite artists in the industry, and he can tell a damn good story as well. I am very much looking forward to future installments in this series, and wish there wasn't such a long wait bewteen issues.

    6. The story was pretty original. I did thoroughly enjoy it. The artwork was very impeccable and very well done. The paper quality in the book was pretty good. I'm looking forward to the soccer collected edition.

    7. I really love Steampunk graphic novels and movies. The visuals are so compelling.I thought the close was a little weak, but I am looking forward to the next installment in this serial.

    8. Unlike some comics, Lady Mechanika doesn't lose story in favor of action; there's a great balance of exposition, character, and plot. Can't wait for #3.

    9. I am just going to say a few things about Lady Mechanika. I bought a few issues last year and finally got to this one. The art was fun and fantastic. The story was great. I will read the rest.-L, geekishwonder
