    2. I'd rate this about 4.5 stars. So, I tried to find a way to best express how I felt about this story. How can I effectively convey that I found this not only hot as hellbut that it also made me get all teary-eyed?Well, when words fail me, I turn to Benedict Cumberbatch:Kevin and Nick were practically inseparable best friends in college—soccer teammates and confidantes. The night of their college graduation, Kevin put the moves on Nick, and as much as Nick wanted him, he knew that for Kevin, ther [...]

    3. 4.5 you-were-always-mine starsThis book was mesmerizing! I loved the best friends to lovers theme. Usually, I'm not a fan of long separations, but Nick and Kevin were scared and young following their first kiss at the end of their senior college year, and the separation built the necessary tension in the story. It was like a decade of slow burn!Ten years later, Nick and Kevin reconnect. But they're not boys this time; they are men: men who are still scared to be open with their feelings. Both ar [...]

    4. OMG, so, so, so fabulous! All fans of friends-to-lovers MUST READ! I found this one to be so incredibly emotional, which made the epilogue the BEST thing I have read in months. (I re-read it 3 times, and not just because it was hard to read through the tears.) Vanessa North does not disappoint with her fabulous submission in 2014's Love's Landscapes. Highly recommended, 5 stars, favorites shelf.Oh, and did I mention this is FREE? Not Kindle Unlimited free. FREE free. This review is also posted at [...]

    5. 4.5 Stars!Great novella! Vanessa North is pretty much an auto-read author for me. I've liked all of her stuff. Perfectly executed friends-to-lovers story all resulting fromNow normally this bothers melly boys, a single conversation and all of those years wouldn't have been wasted. But, alas, I enjoyed the coming back together too much to really care about all the other stuff. Well written, as always, with a touch of steam.I definitely recommend this one!

    6. 4.5 Nut Up or Die Alone StarsI said to myself, 'I'll just read a little bit then go back to my review book.' What's that saying about famous last words? There would be no turning back after I read:"You should see the look on your face right now," Kevin says. "You look completely lost and found. You look like a man should look on the verge of an orgasm. You look fierce and fine and so damned hot. All the guys in this room wish they were dancing with you, and they're jealous because I'm the one hol [...]

    7. I don't even like this sub-genre, but I can't name a single fault with this story. This is the pinnacle of the friends-reunited-become-lovers trope. Superb. *standing to clap*

    8. ***5 Stars***I can't give you only one, without wanting to give you every one.Holy shit.what kind of magical golden keyboard does Vanessa North have??? She managed to write a beautifully emotional, full bodied story in under 80 pages. Nick and Kevin were best friends throughout college. The only gay guys on their soccer team, they were a source of comfort, safety and unconditional acceptance for each other. The night before their graduation, years of friendship and sexual tension come to a heade [...]

    9. "I can't give youonly one, without wanting to give youeveryone." Gah! I've got all the tingles.Utterly gorgeous. With not a wasted word. And the added bonus of a recipe at the end (for ice cream no less!).Loved.

    10. The “friends to lovers theme”, tough not very original, has been executed perfectly. The heat level was beyond belief. “You look completely lost and found. You look like a man should look on the verge of an orgasm. You look fierce and fine and so damned hot. All the guys in this room wish they were dancing with you, and they’re jealous because I’m the one holding you. They think I’m going to be fucking you later, and they get hard just thinking about it. About that face you’re maki [...]

    11. I don't get it.I don't understand why everyone is so excited about this story.Don't get me wrong - it's nice. Really nice. It's got the heat and the sugar, the hot and the bittersweet and all that frustrating hesitation. It's a classic, in that it's a well written, smooth mash-up of most of the classic M/M tropes. But it's flawed. The MCs are impulsive scaredy cats, which makes no sense whatsoever but is apparently possible, and there is nothing fresh or new in the whole thing. It's warm and cosy [...]

    12. I love the way Vanessa writes! This is short, sweet, and steamy with lots of feels. This is probably the best friends-to-lovers story that I've read. Recommended to everyone.

    13. Nicely sweet with little bits of hot. I liked the hot better than the sweet as I am not a fan of sweet. Good writing as in not bad but the writing does not have a character, a voice, neither do Nick and Kevin, they just remain as nice handsome eminently sweet guys, their character does not come out.

    14. Wow! Just wow! That was a truly sublime read for me. From the very first word to the very last, I was drawn into this emotionally charged love story to the point where I was dreading it finishing. I just didn't want it to end. There were times when I wanted to shout and rail at the two of them because it was so bloody obvious to the world and his mother that they were sooooo meant to be together but like all stubborn men who choose not to look beyond the end of their noses at what’s staring th [...]

    15. 1.75* rounded up. It was okay.I read about 20% and then skimmed until the end. I couldn't get into this, and disliked both MCs.Like Nina I don't get the to-do about this story. Unlike her I think the writing was basically decent and free of SPaG issues, but nothing which bowled me over. Instead it faintly exasperated me with a rather juvenile dialogue of men in their early thirties, as well as the abundance of contrived, chichi expressions and abbreviations. Like Meep I had major problems with b [...]

    16. I checked and I'm not wrong. This story embodies the Platonic ideal of a short contemporary m/m romance. Yes, I know I overuse the "P" word, but this time it's the correct usage. You know how somewhere in one of the internet drawers of writing recipes there's an exact instruction of what emotion a reader should feel at a given percentile into a story? They all happened here. And it felt perfect instead of formulaic. And I had this lightbulb moment somewhere around 78%: "oh, so THIS is what I read [...]

    17. Una novella de segundas oportunidades y friends to lovers que parece que no cuenta nada extraordinario, una historia de amor cotidiana, pero tan románticaGratis, merece la pena leerla.

    18. Vanessa, thank you! This free story that you provided for the event moved me and I thank you for sharing. Thank you to all the authors who have contributed to this wonderful event. Wow, wow, wow. Seriously, the talented authors that provide these stories for free is mind blowing. I am just in awe of their ability and their want to give this to the readers for nothing but our enjoyment. Well, there is no doubt that I enjoyed this. All of it. Dani swore this was one I would love and if she was wro [...]

    19. Everything just felt right about this story, the dialog, the flirting, the chemistry, the tension, the emotions, and surrender to lurve.

    20. I am speechless. Seriously, nothing I have to say can do The Lonely Drop justice. This is one of those stories which leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. It is a tale of friendship, second chances, and love. Despite being quite short, it was an emotional read; made me laugh, cry, swoon, giggle like a school girl with a crush and I loved every single second of it, every word.I also fell irrevocably in love with the MCs. Granted, I wanted to smack them upside the head a few times, but that [...]

    21. “I can’t give you only one, without wanting to give you every one.”Freaking loved this story a must read for M/M fans, perfection is what this book is!!

    22. An okay little freebie.Review hidden for spoilers.(view spoiler)[I didn't quite buy the ten years of pining for each other. A lot can happen in ten years yet these two jump straight to the issue of should they/shouldn't they fuck, there's no real feel of there having been a friendship or anything else between them.Kevin comes across as to commitment shy - why did he leave propositioning Nick to their last day together if he cared back then? There's an arrogance to disappearing for a few weeks th [...]

    23. Nick and Kevin, you wasted so much time, but it was so worth it to see you finally get together in the end. This was really great. I really enjoyed everything about it. The pace was great, the dialogue was intriguing, and the characters were easy to like. Nick is the perfect description of a 'good guy'. He works hard and is extremely loyal to his friends. I really like how he was with Jenny and her situation. He's someone you want in your corner. He's got a quiet confidence that is very appealing [...]

    24. 5 Stunning Stars“I can’t give you only one, without wanting to give you every one." Ticked all the boxes for me. Thank you Vanessa North. LovedLovedLovedFree fromhereHighly recommended.

    25. I will try to keep this one shortWhile I believed Nick's reasoning for not taking a chance with Kevin (his fear of being just another one night stand was clear enough) but I didn't really believe in Kevin's reasoning of his attitude. Kevin seemed too flighty and too flirty and didn't really take commitment seriously throughout the book. For me, he never really shown that everything he wanted with Nick was more than just 'it would be one good night sex'. I thought Nick had given Kevin several cha [...]

    26. I love the friends to lovers trope, and this awesome novella didn't disappoint! Very sexy and sweet! I'm surprised how well developed it felt for a story that's quite short. The smexy times were hot and there was a happy ending. Also, as if all that were not enough, it was free! What else can a girl ask for?Recommend!
