    1. A Joyfully Jay review. 4.5 starsRadcliffe did a great job of setting the scene of east coast America in 1853. I was transported to the era without difficulty, and there was a fantastic sense of place throughout the story. The scenes were described with lush language that had me picturing it all with ease. I did find some of the language a bit over the top, and while I appreciated the lengths the author went to in order to give it an authentic feel, it was far enough outside the norm that I had a [...]

    2. I received a copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads4 Steamy Stars. Jules Radcliffe is a new-to-me author, and I found the writing style to be swift, engaging, and sultry. Jacob Huntington, 'Hunter', has been burned in the past, unable to allow himself to slip into love. When he feels the initial stirrings, he gives his mistresses a parting gift and a note, not even bothering to say it to their faces. As long as monetary compensation is involved, broken hearts are avoided. Set in [...]

    3. Steamy historical you can't put down but have to finishSet in 1850s America, the story of Ash and Jake starts innocently at first. The tension between the two builds, and after the two have a night with Miss Rose, all hell breaks loose. The dam that holds back passion breaks, and you are swept up in this torrid, raunchy affair with two amazing characters. Ash and Jake mature as the plot goes, but the heat between the two doesn't fade. Jules Radcliffe blends history, and clever dialogue into a gr [...]

    4. For me the most remarkable thing about this story is the sex scenes. They are long, very detailed, emotional and amazingly tender. I absolutely have loved them. But good sex scenes are not enough unless they are supported by a solid story and I could not get into the story because I could not understand the meaning of the dialogue at times.

    5. Pretty goodtime period was a nice touch and the chemistry and sex between the two MC's was great but I would have liked to get a little deeper beneath the surface of these two. Although they cared and loved one another the depth of emotion wasn't there for me.

    6. Jules Radcliffe, you've done it again! A great author able to pull the reader in, producing quality historical homo-erotic literature, with characters you want to know more about! If you liked this, try 'Barn Dance'.

    7. This review was originally posted on Cocktails and BooksOHMYGOODNESS!! What a fantastic book! It more than met my expectations, and I am completely delighted to have been able to read it!"A Summer Pursuit" is the prequel to "The Winter Trail", and a sequel (of sorts) to "Barn Dance", both of which I also loved. Jules Radcliffe has written characters with depth and humanity. They were soREAL to me. These stories are so much more than two guys who meet, like each other, and have sex. Jake and Ash [...]

    8. 4.25 StarsNo review, but two comments:1. This is recently released second edition of the orginal novel which was published in May 2015. It has been heavily revised. For details, look here. 2. If you are completely turned off by ladybits, this may not be the book for you. The relationship between Ash and Jake takes off after a threesome in brothel. Jake believes he is introducing innocent, virginal Ash to the delights of female flesh, while Ash is seizing the opportunity to get his horny little h [...]

    9. I read all three books and I enjoyed them. Sex scenes were hot and there were many and some scenes were beautiful. I really enjoyed Jake wooing Ash when the first arrived in New York. Falling in love

    10. Excellent story, wonderful characters, fantastic writing. It is a sweet love story that pulled at my heart strings.

    11. Remarkably Erotic Mid-19th Century RomanceThis is one of the best historical MM romances I have read for several reasons:1. It takes place in mid-19th Century America, not a usual era for an MM romance, mostly all of it in New York City and Philadelphia. Author Radcliffe has done a remarkable job in capturing the essence of life for young men in that era in those cities. 2. It brings us back to Ashton Moore, the sensuous hero of the prelude to this book ("Barn Dance") and introduces us to Jake H [...]

    12. Hot & Sweet & More Hot!Jules weaves a hot as heck love story that is so amazingly tender it amped up my emotions to 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.Beautiful descriptions, historical details, and two captivating young men make this story a must read.An engineer and a medical student take their destinies into their own hands and seek to make life work outside the norm. This breathtaking story of love against all odds in mid-1800s America is a keeper. Looking forward to more from Jules Radcliffe.S [...]

    13. 3.5 StarsMs. Radcliffe did a great job of fleshing out the characters between the in-between-the-sheets scenes, and giving them each a distinctive personality, which I really appreciate. Oftentimes when there is a lot of on page sex, the characters or the romance isn’t developed enough for me, and I am someone that likes the full course. That wasn’t the case here. The reader experiences their quiet times when they open up to one another, and there are also shenanigans to lighten it all up. J [...]

    14. This is the prequel to The Winter Trail, which I really loved. If anything, this book is even better than the first one! I really love Jake and Ash, and they are hotter than ever in this book.I connected with Ash more in this than in the first book, and he is such a perfect partner for Jake. Again, there are a lot of funny moments and laugh out loud bits in the story. There are lots of hot sex scenes, although the graphic nature might not suit everyone I thought they were perfect. The relationshi [...]
